Research tips that will make you an excellent freelance writer

Are you sick and tired of your boring office routine? Do you feel that you are capable of doing much greater things? Our age of internet and technologies gives talented people a perfect opportunity to try themselves in freelance writing. There are numerous freelance writing jobs online, however, not many companies offer their support and help to beginning writers for them to become highly qualified freelance academic researchers. We are proud to say that we belong to those few. In this blog, we offer you several tips on how to conduct research, which might come in handy when you only start your freelance writing job.

Start early
The most evident and yet the most effective advice to a beginning freelance content writer is to start right away when you get your instructions. You will have enough time to conduct profound research and to avoid such common and grave mistakes as plagiarism if you give yourself enough time to write a paper. The majority of freelance writing websites offer extra money to make you complete an order within several hours. Remember that professionals - and we are among them - understand that research takes time. It is easy to miss something when you are rushed. Having sufficient time to do your research and pay attention to your content is going to put you miles ahead of your competitors. When you are under pressure we stand a bigger chance of making your paper low quality. We do not risk our reputation, same as our writers - do not.

Check the paper instructions
Make sure you know the guidelines for the paper you are working on.  In the lecture materials that we provide for all our orders, you will find tons of valuable information that can and should be used. There, you will also find what word count is needed, how the paper should be formatted, according to what criteria it is to be assessed, if a reference page or in-text citations are required, how many sources are needed for the paper, and other guidelines. This allows you to go into the task prepared.

Research profoundlyInternet has millions of sources. Your task is to find those that correspond to the requirements of the tasks. The prevailing majority of universities do not welcome sources like Wikipedia. Remember: the more peer-reviewed articles you use - the better. However, you should bear in mind that internet is also a source. Just because you found something on the internet and not in a book does not mean you can use the information without citing. Be very careful with this one because it still is someone’s original work. You want to reference or cite online sources you use in order to avoid plagiarism. Starting as a freelance writer and researcher you have the chance to build your reputation with us. Just because you found something on someone’s blog does not mean it’s there for you to copy and paste.

Make a differenceWe believe that all of our writers are talented enough to make a difference. It is not a way for you to find a ready-made article and to rewrite in your own words. You are much more talented than that. Explore and explain!

Cite correctlyIt is one thing to cite your sources, but that won’t mean much if you don’t do it correctly. Make sure you know what the standards are for the paper you are working on and apply it accurately. You might be trying to do the right thing and still get it wrong. Just think that the student can lose a lot of percent of his or her mark because of citing. Pity, isn’t it?

Proofread
Proofreading is a must. You can find the best article rewriter but proofreading your work works. It does not take that much time to scan through your paper and make sure you have written everything you wanted to write about and have cited every source you used. This step is easy to apply and gives results.

To quote or not to quote?
The best answer to this question is not to quote. Direct quotations indicated you own absence of knowledge and critical analysis on the topic. You just cite what you read about that. Would you trust such papers? If you still want to use a direct quotation, do not forget to give credit to the author - use quotations when you are directly quoting someone.

Paraphrase
There is a way around using someone else’s work, but you want to still give credit where it’s due. Paraphrasing works well when you reword a sentence without it losing meaning. You have to write it in your own words and cannot just take out one word and replace it with another.

Add Value
Do not try to use all information you find in your sources. Try and add some value to the topic by including some of your own insights. This is going to score you better marks anyway. It shows that you understand what you are talking about. You can only do this by researching extensively until you get to a point where all the information clicks.

Plagiarism Checker
There are a lot of good plagiarism checkers online. It does not take much to put your work through a checker, just to be sure.

Reference Page
Another easy way to ensure the quality of your work is to include a reference page at the end of your paper. Just add to this list as you do your research and know what you want to include. Do not try to do it when you are done with your paper because it is easy to miss something important.
